This week begins the ABC Plant Sale. Your child will be bringing home a flyer and catalog so you can start looking at what items you would like to purchase. We will be having weekly order turn-ins, complete with prizes (similar to what we do for Cathedralfest). We are so thankful for our parent volunteer groups like ABC and Home and School, who help support us through these fun and engaging fundraisers.
Details to Note for the Plant Sale:
Plant Sale starts Tuesday, March 2.
Flyers and catalogs go home with each student for THT.
100% of the sales from this fundraiser come back to the school. In year’s past, ABC has been a huge supporter of various needs for our students and staff: field trips, curriculum/resources, classroom renovations.
Order pickup is May 5 & 6, perfect timing for Mother’s Day and Teacher Appreciation Week gifts.
We could all use some spring color and beauty after this winter season. ABC has made this fundraiser SUPER convenient by providing an online ordering option. Check out their website and SHARE SHARE SHARE with family and friends who are 6-feet away (or more)!

This year, we will be collecting items for Snack Bags for health care workers. Some examples of items that we are in need of are: granola bars, cheese & crackers, gum, candy bars, water flavoring packets, and water bottles. We will be collecting these items in the classrooms January 25 - January 29.

Here are some instructions from Mrs. Turbes:
This is the Sign Up Genius for parents or grandparents to shop. The Book Fair runs from December 7-16. I will be open for shopping after school from 3:00 to 4:30 on Dec. 7, 8, 9, 14, 15, 16. I will also have it open on Tuesday, Dec. 8 from 8-11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 10 from 8-noon, and Tuesday, Dec. 15th from 8-11. Students will be creating wish lists during library classes this week and will also have the opportunity to shop during school hours the week of Dec. 14-16: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/904054CAEA729A0F85-book
Here is the link to the folder with all the photos of each case. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/10Hrsaa7bsIAY8aowkGfHU4TH6mWRUsnj?usp=sharing
The price is on each book so all parents would need to do is let me know the title of the book(s) they want and send me the request in an email at sturbes@stcecilia.net If they want the book to be a Christmas gift, then they can email me to bag up the books and set up a pick up time with them. They can also send a check or cash for the exact amount to school with their child. They can also create an e-wallet account and load with the amount of their purchase. This is the easiest way to shop without sending money to school, and grandparents and other family members can also add on to that e-wallet. Here is a quick commercial showing how it's used: https://players.brightcove.net/1543299976/Eyj59PHsg_default/index.html?videoId=5831064261001
This is where they can set up their e-wallet to use at our fair: https://bookfairs.scholastic.com/bookfairs/parent-how-it-works.html?fairID=
We receive the most profit if parents use the ewallet option, send a check or exact change to school with their child, or by shopping in person. Although any purchase helps our school, these three options are the best for us. If you have questions, please email Mrs. Turbes (sturbes@stcecilia.net). Happy book shopping!
The St. Cecilia online Spritiwear Store is now open and will close Nov. 22. All orders will be in by December 7th; just in time for Christmas! Please visit this website:

Safety and Health Requirements:
We need ALL players to bring their own ball to every game (pre-pumped) to avoid cross contamination.
All players must bring their own water bottle to not be shared with anyone else.
We will not be checking temps at the gate but ask that parents do so before player arrives.
If a player tests positive for COVID, we ask that you notify Colin Lyons (cjlyons22@gmail.com or 760-801-
2619) so that we can work with authorities to contact trace and inform families as needed while
maintaining player confidentiality. We will be keeping attendance at games to assist in notifications.
Please ensure that your player has hand sanitizer to use before and after each game.
Parents and spectators are required to maintain six feet of social distance at all times and wear a mask.
Players will be asked to set their gear down separate from other players gear.
As much as we love helpers, we ask that the players/parents not touch the equipment for set up or take
down.
Players should have masks available in case unable to distance on the sidelines.
Remind your players, no high fives, hugs, hand bumps, spitting, etc.
We do not suggest kids wear masks/respirators during games as this can impede breathing when exerting.
For games, please distance yourselves and wear masks.
Again, we all ask that you screen your own players before practice and stay home if you have had any
signs or symptoms of COVID. If they missed school for illness, do not come to games.
The safety of our kids and their families is the top priority. We appreciate everyone’s participation and
commitment to ensure we have a fun season while keeping everyone healthy.
St. Cecilia School has had great success with in-person learning due to all of the safety and cleaning
precautions in place. In order to continue that success it is imperative that we all follow the safety and health requirements outlined above.
