St. Cecilia Alumni
Maddie Elliston SCS 2010 is a member of the FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup Soccer Team. She spoke to some of our own students when she was in town. At right, she autographs a St. Cecilia t-shirt for St. Cecilia student Maggie L.
Jim Lindsay SCS 2013 was named a Finalist in the National Merit Scholarship competition. This prestigious honor, in recognition of his outstanding academic achievements, is bestowed on only one percent of the 1.5 million students involved in the competition from across the country.
Katie Rourke Gross SCS 2003 is a meteorologist for the National Weather Service. She spoke to the 7th Grade science class about weather and her career. She stated that her interest in weather was evident even in her Junior High Science Fair projects!

Nebraska Floor Map Activity
Giant 20' x 16' floor map of Nebraska which allowed the students to do various activities such as locating cities and rivers.
Comedy & Cuisine Adults Night Out - February 11
Kindergarten Roundup - Feb. 11
St. Cecilia School’s Kindergarten Roundup will be on Saturday, February 11. Last names A-L come at 8:30 and M-Z come at 10:30. We are counting on our school families to extend an invitation to friends, neighbors, relatives, and co-workers to join our St. Cecilia Family! If prospective Kindergarten families are not available on February 11, they may contact the school office to make other arrangements.
St. Cecilia Student Art Exhibit - "Nebraska Through the Eyes of Children"
The art of St. Cecilia School students is currently featured in the "Nebraska Through the Eyes of Children" Art Show in the Sunderland Gallery in the Cathedral Cultural Center. The show offers a unique student perspective on Nebraska landmarks, people and events and commemorates Nebraska's 150th birthday as a state. St. Cecilia students in grades Kindergarten through eighth grade have work represented.

Second Grade Writing Project
Miss Pistek's 2nd grade students practiced their writing skills by writing letters to family and friends, asking them to send postcards to the class from where they live. So far, 35 postcards from 17 states have been received.
Flat Stanley Project
Mrs. Heimerman's 3rd grade students are getting pictures and stories coming in for their Flat Stanley project in social studies. Students sendt a "Stanley" to relatives and asked them to take a picture of him in various urban, suburban, and rural areas.
