Miss Michele Wise, 6th Grade
Who is Ms. Wise?
I was born and raised in Omaha and attended Omaha Catholic Schools from grades 1-12.
This is my 6th year teaching middle school science, and 2nd year teaching science here at St. Cecilia.
I enjoy being a science teacher. I continue to work on my teaching craft by attending workshops and conferences on science teaching as well as taking part in science field work in the summer. I have studied sustainability and food justice on a small island in the Caribbean, and geology in Nebraska and Wyoming. I look forward to more opportunities like this in the future. Through these and other activities, I've become very passionate about Science Inquiry, Earth Systems Science, and Climate Change Science.
My favorite science subject is Earth Science, specifically Geology. Space science is a close second. However, there are many more exciting hands on activities to do in Physical science, so I find my most successful teaching moments seem to be when I am teaching that aspect of science.
For those inquiring minds: my favorite animal is a giraffe (because they are so tall) and my favorite element is Carbon (because of how many different forms it takes).
I am also the Robotics Club sponsor and coach.
Welcome to Room 315! Science is awesome!
7th grade students tracked weather in different cities across the globe. After a month, and while learning about weather, they created a graph and wrote an article from the point of view of a journalist, talking about their city. Click here to view the results.
