Miss Caitlin Gaule, 6th Grade
MUCHO GUSTO! NICE TO MEET YOU!
This will be my third year teaching at St. Cecilia's, and I am looking forward to expanding the Spanish program here. I was born and raised in Omaha. I love my hometown, but also enjoy new experiences and journeys - whether across the U.S. or the world. I graduated from Creighton University in 2011 with a B.A. in English and in Spanish.
After graduating college, I decided to take a year off to work and volunteer. One of my volunteer opportunities took me Encarnacion, Paraguay to serve as VOICA America volunteer. While there, I lived in community, and participated in various service opportunities. After coming back from Paraguay, I joined Creighton's Magis Catholic Teacher Corp, and accepted a teaching position at St. Augustine Indian Mission in Winnebago, NE. I lived and taught on the Winnebago reservation as the school's Middle School Language Arts teacher for two years. I graduated in May 2014 from Creighton with a Masters in Education. Now I find myself now at St. Cecilia's. I feel honored to have this opportunity to share the Spanish language and culture with students - both in the classroom and as part of the After School Spanish program.
In my free time, I love traveling and exploring new places. I especially love visiting national parks for hiking and beautiful scenery. I have traveled and volunteered in many Spanish-speaking countries, including Chile, Argentina, Paraguay, Peru, Panama, Guatemala, and Honduras - all of which have introduced me to incredible people and experiences. I also enjoy cycling around Omaha, studying other languages, reading, yoga, photography, creative writing, dogs, playing with my niece, and baking.
Welcome to Room 309!
